A DAY TRIP AT MORRO BAY
MORRO BAY is about 3 hours drive from Bay Area toward 101 South along with the coast. We tried to make it a day trip on the weekend so the girls can explore a new coastal city. Arrived around late afternoon, we stopped at Morro Bay's Embarcadero to have a late lunch and visit local boutique stores. It was a nice walk in this small town as you were lucky with a day of 90 degree at the coast. The Shelf shop was the girls favorite store. It has thousand of different type of shelfs and snails from around the world.
We tried the sub sea tour here but I don't recommend it. You can able to see star fish, crab and small fish from the deck without buying sub sea tour
Move on to Morro Rock Beach just right on time to catch the sunset, I got some beautiful sunset picture and the kids were able to enjoy beach time. I like how the beach was not too busy when we got there at the sunset time. Almost the entire beach was just for us.
Tips: as this is a small town, most of restaurants are closed by 6pm. Lucky we brought food so we did not have to leave for dinner. There is only one restroom with outdoor shower at the beach. You will need to bring quarter to buy for using the shower.
